• The deadline for submitting applications for entrance and tuition fee waivers due to economic reasons (i.e. the existing waiver system) has been extended to May 31 (Tue.) for incoming and current students. Those wishing to apply should prepare the application documents and submit them by this date.
  In addition to the waiver system, Tohoku University is considering separately extending emergency financial aid to those affected by this disaster. Details will be announced as soon as they are available. (Updated: March 22 17:00)

  On March 16, MEXT announced it will accept additional applications for advances on Grants-in-Aid for Scientific 虎扑电竞 (see homepage); however, our university informed MEXT that it will be unable to meet the application schedule. MEXT has recognized this.

• The Immigration bureau of Japan has created a special website related to the Tohoku Pacific Ocean Offshore Earthquake .
• The Center for Career Support website has been restored. If you have any questions about job-hunting in the wake of this earthquake, please check this website for information, then contact the Center for Career Support.
• The Entrance Ceremony for the academic year of 2011 was scheduled for late April, but has been canceled due to the severe effects of the earthquake. (Updated March 18)
