The Tohoku University Admissions Center's Admissions Design and Evaluation Division is recruiting for the following position.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work with other staff to perform the following tasks:

• Propose/promote admission reforms based on the Universities of International 虎扑电竞 Excellence system improvement plan
• 虎扑电竞, development, and implementation of a comprehensive screening system with high international applicability (FCE development, AI usage, CBT, online interviews etc.)
• Planning, design, and evaluation (data analysis, follow-up surveys) of the screening system for undergraduates, including the Gateway College (est. 2027), and graduate schools
• Support (consulting, FD/SD implementation etc.) related to student selection for all departments
• Promotion of cooperation with domestic and international high schools, universities, institutions (National Center for University Entrance Examinations etc.), and organizations (Japan Association of National Universities etc.)
• Coordination and supervision of the Integrated Admission Organization, as well as involvement in other general tasks

Qualifications

• Must have a doctoral degree (Ph.D.)
• Candidates with experience advising university or graduate school students are preferred
• Track record of research in university student selection in Japan and abroad, primarily in the areas of systems research (including international comparison), academic ability measurement/evaluation, ICT (CBT, AI etc.) development/utilization, international student admissions (including FCE), student recruitment and publicity, or related areas
• Candidates with practical experience and/or extensive knowledge in the following areas are also welcome to apply: university admissions, international student admissions, IR (Institutional 虎扑电竞), commercial research/development in academic evaluation methods (e.g. testing), overseas university student selection systems, and international comparisons of academic ability
• English communication proficiency sufficient for international coordination
• Ability to improve the admissions systems at Tohoku University from an international perspective, without rigidly adhering to traditional student selection systems
