If you see a fairy with a squishy body, large doe eyes filled with childlike wonder, and a verdant ombre pattern - that's Kenichi! The Tohoku University Public Relations mascot now has their own themed cider and plushie. They will both be on sale starting July 26, 2024 at the Tohoku University Co-op stores.

The cutest drink of the summer is here! This sweet, refreshing cider will chase away the summer heat, as well as any worries about whether or not your experiment will turn out the way you expected. A portion of the sales will be donated to the Tohoku University Fund, which will go back into supporting the University.

Kenichi is now available in a portable plushie form, for whenever you need a familiar face to cheer you up. It has a perfectly squishy, mochi-like feeling when you squeeze it. At 15cm tall, it fits right in the palm of your hand, as any fairy should. The plushie comes with a detachable keychain, so you may see Kenichi more often on campus dangling from knapsacks and bags. Please bring them along with you on all your adventures!

If you aren't familiar with Kenichi, they're a curious fairy who deeply admires all the hard-working students and researchers at Tohoku University. After all, their name is a contraction of "研究第一" (KENkyuu daiICHI), which means "research first."
