Lecture Commemorating the Opening of the Center for Integrated Japanese Studies

The Center for Integrated Japanese Studies was established at Tohoku University in October 2023 with the aim of developing cooperative international research among scholars of Japanese studies.

The center will host a lecture on March 5 to commemorate its opening, with two preeminent Japanese studies scholars - Carol Gluck and Michael K. Bourdaghs - sharing their outlook on the social sciences and humanities in Japan and around the world. They will also discuss the future of Japanese studies as a growing discipline.

This is an English language event, with Japanese translation available. It is open to all, but registration is required.
