Tohoku University CIES and Keysight Technologies Inc. Collaborate on STT-MRAM Test

Tohoku University, Center for Innovative Integrated Electronic System (CIES) and Keysight Technologies Inc. collaborated on STT-MRAM test solution as a part of consortium project, and Keysight Technologies Inc. announced to launch products based on the result of collaboration.

Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) today announced to develop STT-MRAM test solution based on collaboration with Tohoku University Center for Integrated Electronic Systems (CIES) STT-MRAM activities.

"As the result of strategic collaboration with Tohoku University, Center for Integrated Electronic Systems (CIES), Keysight Technologies will launch STT-MRAM test solution early 2016," said Masaki Yamamoto, Vice President and General Manager of Hachioji Semiconductor Test Division. "Our collaboration with CIES is a key for us to develop STT-MRAM test solution that addresses various challenges in industry."

"We are delighted that our research collaboration has brought a successful result with Keysight Technologies, as one of the evidence of hope beyond the disaster. We believe the result contributes to further advancement of STT-MRAM researches worldwide." said Prof. Tetsuo Endoh, Director of CIES. Additionally, he commented as a project leader, "As one of seven themes of the CIES research consortium, which aims to create innovative core technologies for substantial energy savings in integrated electronic devices, R&D project of STT-MRAM aimed at developing non-volatile working memory and its manufacturing technologies. This project is to contribute to super low-power electronic systems, which is crucial for low carbon society with low-power electronic appliances."
