The Watershed Ecology Lab at Tohoku University's Graduate School of Life Sciences is seeking to hire an assistant professor.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the development of the interdisciplinary research group, collaborating closely with other lab members to explore the diverse aspects of watershed ecology. Whether focusing on aquatic or terrestrial ecosystems via the study of animals or plants, candidates will have the opportunity to conduct research in fields such as river and riparian ecology, estuarine ecology, and nutrient-ecosystem dynamics.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting independent, internationally recognized research in watershed ecology
- Collaborating on interdisciplinary research projects with fellow lab members and departmental researchers
- Performing fieldwork safely and effectively
- Teaching one or two undergraduate field courses
- Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
