The annual Tohoku University International Festival (TUIF), organized by a committee comprising international and Japanese students, is one of the most anticipated social events in Sendai, with more than 3,000 people from all over the region attending every year.

The theme for 2023 is "The World on a Plate," which highlights the event's most popular feature - food stalls selling international delicacies prepared by Tohoku University students. It also reinforces the belief that food is a universal language and the gateway to understanding different cultures.

This year, festival-goers can look forward to about 20 food stalls, as well as booths promoting various cultural items and activities.

The TUIF committee is currently looking for volunteers to run a food stall, or help to manage the event on the day. Please click on the links below to check out the many ways to get involved.

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Venue: Tohoku University Centennial Hall (Kawauchi Hagi Hall)
Tickets cost 1,500 yen (or 1,200 yen if purchased before September 9)
Each ticket can be used to buy three food items at the festival.
