With global evidence suggesting that immigrants and ethnic minorities suffer disproportionately from the health, social and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Assistant Professor Yuanyuan Teng, from Tohoku University's Center for Northeast Asian Studies, will deliver a presentation that discusses the health and social effects of the pandemic on foreign residents in Japan.
Japan has a growing foreign population. But a lack of data has hindered understanding of their health and living conditions during the pandemic.
Teng will present the results of an original survey and compare foreign residents' experiences to Japanese residents. Following her presentation, a Q&A session will be held.
The event, which is free of charge, is organized by Tohoku University's SDGS-ID. Registration is required.
