Public Lecture: Learning From Disasters For a Resilient Society

Tohoku University and Free University of Berlin (Germany) are jointly organizing a public lecture and discussion panel in conjunction with Berlin Science Week 2020. The lecture will address lessons learnt from disasters such as the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, and the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.

Berlin Science Week is a 10-day celebration of scientific ideas. It brings together the most innovative scientific organizations to discuss strategies and explore solutions to global problems.

This year's event, which will be held from November 1 - 10, will have a combination of in-person and online sessions. The session hosted by Tohoku University will be held online, and broadcast live from the TOKYO ELECTRON House of Creativity on Katahira Campus. It is open to all but registration is required.
