Preparing for Future Pandemics - Lessons from Japanese Experiences

At this international symposium, we are pleased to welcome Honorary Professor Keiji Fukuda of the University of Hong Kong, who led global pandemic responses as assistant director-general of the WHO.

Fukuda will give a keynote speech titled "Pandemic Preparedness in the Post-COVID Era," and lead a discussion on what the world should do to prepare for future pandemics. A panel will also share their experiences and discuss the challenges and important policy guidelines from a global and diverse perspective.

Recommendations from the discussion session based on lessons learnt from Japan's experience will be compiled as a resource in the rebuilding of the international framework to prepare for future pandemics.
