Events

The Kawatabi Field Center welcomes all jam makers to sign up for one of its upcoming workshops. The half day course includes blueberry and rhubarb picking, followed by a session on jam and butter making.

Venue: Kawatabi Field Science Center, Osaki City

Fee: 800 yen (insurance and light meal included)
This event is open to the public.

To participate, fill in the registration form here and fax or email it to the Kawatabi Field Center between June 10 - 14, 2019. Each workshop can accept a maximum of 24 people.

As this is an outdoor event, please wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and bring water, a towel, rain wear, insect spray and your health insurance card.

Programme:

Harvest 24 kinds of blueberries and rhubarb
Make two kinds of jams, vinegar, butter and Gelato!
Enjoy a light meal with blueberry and rhubarb tasting
Lecture

Directions (from Sendai):

Take the JR Tohoku line to Kogota Station, then switch to the JR Rikuuto Line and get off at Kawatabi Onsen station (approx 2 hr 15 mins).
Alternatively take the bullet train to Furukawa station, switch to the Rikuuto Line and get off at Kawatabi Onsen station (approx 1 hr 10 mins).
