The 2020 Falling Walls Venture Qualifier Sendai is opening its doors to students, staff and members of the public who are interested in hearing dynamic start-ups pitch their business ideas.

Being part of the online audience is free, but registration is required.

Falling Walls Venture is a competition for science-based start-ups, nominated by academic institutions. The format provides a stage for pioneering founders who have turned science into business, and created entrepreneurial solutions for today's most pressing challenges.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's Falling Walls Venture will be held as part of Falling Walls Remote 2020, a digital platform instead of the physical conference events usually held in Berlin every November.

The winner of the Falling Walls Venture Qualifier Sendai will become Tohoku University's nominee and will be entered into the final.

Falling Walls Venture Qualifier Sendai is hosted by Tohoku University in collaboration with EARTH on EDGE consortium, and supported by Japan External Trade Organization Sendai (JETRO Sendai).
