There's never been a more urgent need for innovative ideas and research, and the Falling Walls Lab is a timely platform for young researchers and creative thinkers to make a difference in the world.

Through three-minute presentations, participants have the opportunity to showcase their academic research, business models or social initiatives to peers and a jury of experts.

As always, Tohoku University will be hosting Falling Walls Lab in August. Students, entrepreneurs, early-career researchers, and academics from all disciplines are invited to apply. The event this year will be held in a hybrid format to ensure appropriate physical distancing. Remote participation will also be considered.

Presentation coaching will be held throughout July so that participants can learn how to introduce their research in an engaging way, even if they have no prior experience.

The winner of the Falling Walls Lab Sendai will receive a paid trip to Berlin to speak to a global audience at the Falling Walls Lab Finale, part of the wider Falling Walls Conference held annually from November 7-9.
