Program Theme:
Human rights issues such as migration and human trafficking often evolve at the nexus of political and military conflicts and global economic and societal change. At the same time, regional organizations such as the European Union or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations have evolved as credible actors in promoting new standards in human rights protection. In light of this complexity, interdisciplinary dialogue and networks are vital for the promotion of human rights norms across cultural boarders. This program brings together scholars of international law and international relations, as well as legal experts, corporate entrepreneurs and civil society actors to discuss the challenges and prospects of protecting and promoting human rights norms.
